Astropecten matilijaensis Durham & Roberts, 1948 & Amphiurid? brittle star: both late Eocene (40 my), Cozy Dell Formation, upper Sespe Creek, Ventura Co., California [both approx. 75 mm in width]. Seastar from LACMIP locality 7223, brittle star from LACMIP locality 10571.

Micaceous, sandy siltstones of the Cozy Dell Formation locally contain numerous specimens of (a): seastars, and (b): brittlestars with their arms and spines intact
